I am honored to introduce myself to you, I am Sherry Gayle Wood. I welcome you into my life and look forward to our journey in to knowing each other. I live in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of Nevada County, California. Where I was born and raised as the fourth generation of a mixed family. By mixed, I mean I can track one side of my family to Cornwall, England. The other side of my family is not well documented, but it is believe that my Native American roots are from the Crow tribe. My Grandmother, who has suffered a stroke, has found connections. I don’t know if I have a drop of Native American Indian blood in me, but I can tell you that the teaching this wonderful culture has is of significant value.

I have a bit of a different concept of coaching, then your basic Life or Business coach. I am a Personal Coach. I am trained to walk next to you on this path into your life to assist with life and business issues that impact you in a personal way. You could say that I am your compass, which is a tool, to assist you in finding direction, while on this journey.

Life’s cycle has a very unique ebb and flow to it. Life was meant to be simple, just don’t confuse simple with easy. We as a society would like to believe it to be much more complicated or complex then we have time to understand. This is simply not true. You can understand the basics that influence your life and use them to make so many task and decisions easier. Simple is the goal. This does not mean that you have to go find a mud hut in the wilderness, fish, hunt and harvest to survive. But you do need to understand how the earth moves and fosters the different times of year for different types of activities. Spring fever is due to the “Budding Tree Moon,” it is a time to feel new life or love. Fall is the “Harvest Moon” and “Flying Duck Moon” which is a time when we start to settle down. How does this impact you? If you are trying to start a business during the harvest moon, you need to realize that your customers are settling down for the winter. This does not mean it is a bad time to start a business, it just means you need to address the feeling of your customers by appealing to them in the form of comfort instead of fun.
You will need to advertise differently then you would if you were starting in the “Budding Moon”.

Honoring the Animal Spirits

In the Native American tradition, man communicated with the Creator through interaction with nature; the birds, the forest, the animals.... Many chose or were given symbolic "power animals" whose strength or character reflected the human character traits of the individuals claiming the "power" of that specific animal. As you move through the circle of life, your animal spirit may change or you may gather more. You are not defined by one animal spirit, but several. To assist you with understanding the transition of your life of modern times, we can look back to tradition to understand that there are forces at work that we can understand and use to increase our life’s purpose. If you work in harmony with the earth instead of against it, you can ride the current, much like the sea otter or jelly fish.
